Richard Fung (born 1954) is a video artist, writer, public intellectual and theorist who currently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. He was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and is openly gay. Fung is also an associate professor at OCAD University. Richard finished his undergrad at the University of Toronto, and received a ME in sociology and cultural studies. Richard Fung is Trinidad-born artist, writer, theorist and educator, based in Toronto. Richard focuses his work towards challenging videos in regards to the role of the Asian males in gay pornography, colonialism, immigration, racism, homophobia, AIDS and his own family history. Many of his works have been presented at the international level within Canada and the United states.〔 Fung is also an activist.
